Welcome to our meet the team content series where we find out more about the people — we like to call them ‘UrbanChainers’ — driving UrbanChain forward.
Please tell us about your role at UrbanChain…
As the Operations Analyst, I’m working closely with the Operations Manager and Data Analyst, along with our tech division to support the day-to-day practices involved with the supply side of the business. I’m looking for ways to maintain and improve current processes, whilst also establishing new procedures to contribute to the setup of our new supply licence.
Tell us about you, where you grew up, education, previous work experience…
I’m from Huddersfield, educated at The University of Manchester. I’ve been in the energy industry for five years, previously working for a small commercial supplier. There I have dealt with everything from customer service to the back office operational processes and settlements.
What are your passions, interests and hobbies outside of work?
I enjoy walks around the local countryside, growing veg in my allotment, yoga and spending time with my pets. My degree is in languages, which was inspired by a love of travel and learning about other cultures.
What are your strengths as a thinker and what are you best at?
My strengths are problem-solving, picking new things up quickly and attention to detail. I’d say I’m best at optimising processes.
What’s it like working at a disruptive technology company?
These are my first steps into working for a company with this type of ethos. It’s exciting and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.
What does company culture mean to you?
To me, company culture means everyone working towards a shared goal and supporting each other on the way. Whether that’s in big or small ways, personally and professionally.
Describe UrbanChain’s company culture…
Forward-thinking, collaborative and friendly.
What personal values do you bring to UrbanChain?
I’m quite a dedicated person who cares a lot about my work. I always try to be as thorough, professional and responsible as possible.
