UrbanChain served as a Premium Event Sponsor for the tenth anniversary of Charity Boxing Nights, held at Manchester’s Hilton Deansgate. The sold-out black-tie gathering drew hundreds of business professionals from the North West region and generated over £50,000 in fundraising, with additional totals expected.
The event was established by Ric Moylan to honour his niece Sofia Rose. Throughout its decade of operation, Charity Boxing Nights has raised more than £750,000 for causes including St. Mary’s Hospital’s Newborn Intensive Care Unit.
Basim Basheer Thayyil, UrbanChain’s Senior PPA Originator, competed in the boxing matches and won his bout before an audience exceeding 500 attendees. He reflected:
“From months of training to the electric atmosphere at the Hilton, it was fantastic. I’m proud to have taken part — and even prouder to have done it with UrbanChain backing me.”
CEO Somayeh Taheri commented on the sponsorship:
“We’re so proud of Basim and everyone who stepped into the ring. Charity Boxing Nights captures the same spirit we see in our own team — people pushing boundaries, supporting one another, and creating real impact.”
Gary Hart, Head of Customer Operations, stated:
“Having been part of the CBN family as a fighter and witness to the incredible work Ric and his team do for NICU, I am inspired to bring the same passion and dedication to UrbanChain.”
