UrbanChain has recruited three new team members to strengthen its operations division. The renewable energy exchange company announced these hires alongside a £430,000 government funding award from the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero.
New Team Members
The three recruits are:
- Gemma Scott - Finance Manager, joining from property consultancy Turley Associates
- Helena Mapals - Operation Analyst, previously with Yorkshire Gas and Power
- Atiqa Aziz - Junior Data Scientist, formerly at Yorkshire Energy
Company Statement
CEO Somayeh Taheri stated the company remains “committed to delivering the highest level of excellence for clients” and emphasised that “hiring the best talent” supports their goal of building “a formidable and dedicated team” to enable competitive pricing for both renewable energy generators and consumers.
Future Plans
UrbanChain plans additional recruitment in the coming weeks, with vacancies for software engineers, data engineers, and cloud engineers. The £430k government funding will support introducing electric vehicle charging stations and batteries to the company’s peer-to-peer energy exchange platform.
